CR123A, CR2 and rechargeable 16340/RCR123A batteries should not automatically be treated as interchangeable.
In particular, many rechargeable 16340/RCR123A cells operate at a higher nominal voltage than a standard 3V CR123A primary cell. Using an unsupported replacement could damage equipment.
Check the existing battery marking, required voltage, dimensions and device manual before replacement.
